Contemporary & Chic Reveal: The Ultimate Grand Foyer

Now it’s time to give you a break down of the gorgeous and expansive two-level foyer. This is part of the contemporary chic home that we’ve posted about before. And because it’s the entrance, setting the tone for the rest of the house, it had to be dramatic while still inviting. In the end, the chandelier was the main statement piece and it was quite the journey finding the massive size light in stock as well as installing it with the ceiling height, but it was well worth it! Enjoy the breakdown of the ultimate grand foyer that draws you into the rest of the contemporary chic interior.

The Walls

We needed to do something to the walls but didn’t want to overwhelm the space with wallpaper or bold colors. And because of the hallway-type space, it was important to maintain some light and openness. There was a lot of gray wall action going on and we needed some detail and depth to distract from the uniformity of it all, so we opted for this beautiful wall molding. Adding some shadow, variation, and intrigue, the molding was the perfect choice.

Floors, Stairs & Decor

We continued with the engineered hardwood flooring that is also used on the second level of the home. The addition of the gold starburst rugs from Safavieh was the next must have for this space. We wanted that optical illusion of sorts that guides the eye into the home and adds a splash of glamorous metallics. Next, we added the custom stair rails using a combination of wood and metal, introducing some Art Deco that is carried over to other spaces in the home.

Furnishing the Foyer

For the furniture we went with a grey and gold accent cabinet from Bassett Mirror, green velvet bench and gray velvet loveseat. All of these items added sleek luxury and comfort that helped elevate the simplicity of this part of the home.

We also used the same gold custom curtains for both levels of the foyer. For the accessories, we went with orange, gold and animal print. The Greek key wall mirror complements the gold accents in the space and was especially perfect with the gray loveseat and its matching pillow pattern.

The cherry on top was the art. I worked with a local artist to create the custom artwork that is on display as soon as you enter the home.

As soon as you walk through the front door, the tone is set, the mood established and felt, and the contemporary chic aesthetic more than captivating.
